As part of a campaign to introduce ARISE at universities in the Arab countries, Dr. Omar Mardam-Bey, Founder & President of ARISE made a presentation at Beirut Arab University (BAU) on 29 November 2005. The presentation was attended by a large number of faculty and students from the School of Engineering.

Following the presentation all those present held a discussion on the importance of orienting student projects towards the needs of industry. BAU offers an engineering program covering five full years in length. The discussions came to a conclusion that student projects must cover a two year span so that the outcome of the projects will be a complete development of a product of interest to industry. It was also agreed that when the product design is completed, ARISE will approach industry to sponsor the product prototype construction and testing in preparation for its adoption, production and launch into the market.
